Philadelphia (January 13, 2023) -- The Philadelphia Eagles gave an AAU Odd Age National Championship football team a night they'd never forget.
The 11U West Philly Panthers, who won their division of the 2022 AAU Odd Age Nationals, were celebrated as part of the Eagles Care Community Tuesday initiative, which aims to grow the game of football.
During the event at Lincoln Financial Field, the team met Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata, who provided words of wisdom to the youngsters.
"I just wanted to chase something. Chase greatness," Mailata said. "It's discipline, knowing when you say no to things, saying no to family or friends."
Mailata's appearance at the event was a chance to inspire this next generation.
"Interactions matter, man. The imprint you leave on the kids' lives is crucial. I think I've noticed that and I realized that every event I do is a profound imprint left behind on these kids' lives," said Mailata.
